Hi nana

If you use the Search feature on this site (the Search is in the top right of every page or you can click here http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/search/node/ ) and do a search for 'writing poems' then you will see there are lots of activities and articles on the site about poems and the top results look like they will be helpful - take a look at the results here http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/search/node/writing+poems

There is an activity on writing poems about the future http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/try/activities/poems-future

There is an article on usign poems to develop productive skills which includes some writing activities where students write poems http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/think/articles/using-poems-develop-pro...

We have a poll this week all about using poems in class - you could add a question here for more help (and vote on the poll) http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/talk/polls/poetry-classroom

Finally we have lots of poems you can use in the classroom in our BritLit section here http://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/try/resources/britlit

Hope this helps

Hi diarrasy

There are ideas on the site for using drama in the classroom - a search for drama http://teachingenglish.org.uk/search/node/drama brings back some articles on using drama in the classroom.

Is this the sort of thing you are looking for or are you interested in training/courses?

Maybe other teachers could give advice?

Hi nana,

In addition to the great tips and links by the Administrator, I would like to suggest the following link that I found particularly helpful and inspired me lately to teach poetry ..There are plenty of ideas there. My students enjoyed it and so did I. I hope u will, too.
