It is common known that to learn any language, the first and the most important thing is building its lexis. Lexis is not only essential for receptive skills like listening and reading, but also basic for productive skills such as writing and speaking. Hence, teachers need to draw students’ attention to lexical chunks. The questions are from what sources to exploit lexis and how to exploit it. I get the answers for these questions from the website: http://www.teachingenglish.edu.vn/en-US/Support/tel.html. For the first question, it is said that lexis should be exploited from listening recordings, reading passages and songs as well.  As I see, listening recordings and reading passages are available in the textbook, with standard languages and variety of topics. Besides, songs always catch all students’ attention, so lexis is exited to them. As for the other question, according to the website, vocabulary can be exploited under tasks designed by teachers. In fact, I have applied these things into teaching lexis for my students and I find that they really work.
