Hi Diana
I'm not really sure if *teaching* is the best verb to use in this case; I'd rather use the expression *developing* intercultural competence in language learning.

The basics of the English Language remain the same. Culture does form a very critical aspect of the English Language. There are two reasons for this. Each country will have its own colloquial terms. Secondly one word may carry different meanings in different countries. Here I would like to clarify that I am not making a reference to Homonyms. Lack of cultural knowledge can spoil relationships or put people in embarrassing situations.
