3-
do we say:
american president list or american presidents list
academy awards winner list or academy awards winners list

1. The list is in the singular, not the subject, book, friend etc. However, it would be OK to say, 'I have a friends list'. Meaning I have a list of my friends.
2. If you are lucky enough to have a list of beautiful girls, then use the plural. A beautiful girl list imples the list is beautiful and it has girls names in it. If you use the possesive apostophe, of course, the whole meaning changes yet again. I have a beautiful girl's list.
3. Academy award winners list. The award and the list are in the singular. The awards are given to many winners. It would be better to make the list the subject of such a sentence to avoid any confusion. The list of academy award winners. If a candidate won more than one award then you could say, He was an academy awards winner.
I hope this helps.

Hi,
I think your actual question has already been answered, but I just want to add the note that some of your phrases sound highly unnatura! I can deal with "guest list" etc, but I think in the cases with the slightly longer phrases, we would rather go for "list of ..."
What is a "beautiful girls list"???
