      Hi,

There can be a wide range of challenges facing teachers like how to get along with colleagues and the school administration when you are a new teacher or when you move to a new school , or how to make your lesson plans, how to deal with parents, how to find resources to supplement a course, how to teach reading or writing, etc... But, I will make a guess here and will assume you mean dealing with students in the classroom: One of the problems I struggled to overcome when I had started my career as a teacher is how to make my students work in groups. I admit that it was difficult at first to the point I thought i would give it up all together. But, I had fortunately attended a classroom with a veteran teacher and it this experience changed me forever. I also chose "cooperative Learning" as my Research Project that year. This goes back to the year 2000. Now, I am pretty confident about smoothly getting my students to worjk in groups and occasionally give advice to new colleagues about that.

For more details on how to assign group work activities successfully, feel free to check my blog :

Drawing from my experience of over 8 years in training participants across varied age groups, let me state it is not possible to narrow down on a set of common problems faced by teachers. We all agree that innovation is the key to success as far as the English Language is concerned. Taking this aspect, I can just broadly list down the problems faced by teachers ( or mavericks ) who have the courage and self belief to innovate and implement it in the class.

Feeling of insecurity and jealousy amongst fellow teachers

Conventional thinking process of students being challenged which may result in students resisting change

Methodology used for delivery or activities may be seen as socially unacceptable

Unknown fear that the innovation can harm the credibility of the institute

All teachers have their own way of dealing with the aforesaid issues.
