My ESL Class (German engineering students) to Visit London in March 09; any suggestions?

From March 11-14 2009, 22 students majoring in project management at Berufsakademie Mosbach will be visiting London with me and I am looking for ways for them to experience projects that may be underway in the greater London area – for example, the preparations for the Olympics in 2012.

They are all German students but they have studied English with me for 3 semesters at the Berufsakademie. Most are at a B2/C1 level. Considering the students' background and the fact that the Berufsakademie is covering most of the costs, the visit is intended to have an emphasis on project management in its activities (especially on March 12 & 13) while in London.

I am wondering if you can suggest potential speakers, tours, etc. Funds are available to provide honoraria for speakers and to pay for tours. I would appreciate any and all suggestions along these lines.

(The Berufsakademie Mosbach (a University of Cooperative Education) is based in Baden-Württemberg where there are eight Universities of Cooperative Education, with over 20,000 Students and 7,500 cooperating companies. Berufsakademie Mosbach itself has 18 departments with 1,500 students. Its three year degree courses combine theoretical knowledge with practical training.)

My suggestion would be to contact some of the professional organisations such as Chartered Institute of Building, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or Royal Institute of British Architects. The Institute of Civil Engineers and The Institute of Engineering and Technology are also good bets.

All the above have a range of professionals who could and I am sure would be delighted to help you.
