We are a group of students of our pre-final year from Vellore, India. We have started a programme in our college for teaching underprivileged kids of the grade 7-9 english and the basics of computing. The children here basically learn english by byhearting and reciting and they have no knowledge of what the words  mean.So eventhough they learn from the syllabus of their grade, their understanding and the fluency is pretty low compared to the students who study under other boards. We aim to make the language more interesting and effective with the 100+ volunteers we have. We feel that our approach to the teaching needs to be mended and we require a proper framework to do this.
