Hi, I'm preparing a student to IELTS for the first time. Could you share your experience or even any material on IELTS with me? Thanks!

There are some beautiful books recommended for the Ielts students. Some of them are; Cambridge Objective Ielts by Michael Black & Wendy Sharp. This book also deals with Grammar which is very helpful. I prefer this book. The other one is Practice Test for Ielts (Self-Study) by Venessa Jakeman & Clare McDowel. Hope you like these books. Online you'll get many more Ideas. GOOD LUCK
Hi there
Many books are published to prepare for the IELTS, including past papers published by Cambridge. The only one I would definitely not recommend is the one published by Barron's...
Pearson Longman publishes an excellent coursebook offering a thorough preparation for the test: Focus on Academic Skills (with key and audio CDs).
Photocopiable resource books are published by Cambridge and Delta Publishing.
Some must-visit websites include:
www.ielts.org (official website, with invaluable information and advice, plus sample tasks and worksheets/activities, band descriptors, answer sheets...)
http://www.britishcouncil.org/professionals-exams-ielts-intro.htm (particularly interesting for the writing course preparation this site offers)
www.esl-lab.com (listening activities, 3 levels)
www.aippg.com/ielts/
www.world-english.org/ielts_free_tests.htm
http://international.holmesglen.vic.edu.au/IELTS01.htm
Good luck!
Claire
