I'm Liz, I've been teaching lately two people that want also to improve their pronunciation.
What we do every class is to listen some audios on LearnEnglish.com and then we read the transcripts,
after that, we listen again the audio...is very important for you to read what you are listening so that you may
have an idea of what the person is talking about, I recommend for you to listen this audios over and over again.
Also, if you can have a dictionary near you, it´ll be very helpful.
I hope this will help you with ur pronunciation.
See ya :)
The best way to achieve quick result is constant practicing. First of all you should make up your mind what variant of the language you want to focus on. For example, English pronunciation differs greatly from American pronunciation, and their intonation patterns can be different as well. Then start listening to speech of native speakers as frequently as possible. You may listen to radio programs, songs, watching TV shows, films and so on. But the most important is not only to listen to pronunciation, but to repeat phrases and try to imitate the speakers. However, you can use text to speech TTS technologies and read aloud programs which can help you to improve intonation skills and teach stress and pronunciation.
First of all, to pronounce English words correctly a learner of English has to know the articulation of English sounds (vowels and consonants) - that is the position of lips and tongue to produce English sounds. Only this way practising English pronunciation in exercises with audio and video aids will eventually ensure good English pronunciation skills. Active long-term oral communication with native English speakers will further improve English pronunciation of foreign learners of English.
I also fully support the two preceding comments on this post.
