It was very 63 work because the water ran so fast. Then we had to __64 the boat on our heads to the top of the fall. It took us two hours to push and pull all the way up the 65 of the waterfall. We stopped at the top and put down the 66 boat in a small pool (水潭). We drank some water and lay down, tired. Suddenly Alex shouted. "Where’s the boat? It is 67 ! " "There!" shouted Paddy. Then I saw it. It was almost at the top of the waterfall. We ran to catch it. We tried our best, but at the_____68__ minute we were so tired that we had to let the boat go. It flew down to the bottom (底部) of the waterfall.

61. C. beside (A might also be possible, but they end up going to the small beach below the waterfall - if the waterfall was behind them, they'd be moving away from it not towards it, so C is much more likley).
62. A. made (make one's way to/towards sth is an idiomatic expression)
63. C. hard (difficult is also possible, but hard is much more likley to occur with work - hard work is a common collocation)
64. D. carry (if they 'put the boat on their head' it would sound like they were using the boat as a hat [no change in location], while 'carry the boat on their head' sounds like they are moving it from one place to another, and having it above their head just happens to be the easiest way to do so)
65. B. side (top requires to the before it, ie. 'all the way up to the top')
66. A. heavy (I guess in theory every answer is possible, but there is a lot of mention of the difficulty and how tired they are afterwards)
67. B. gone (left is past for leave - it is a verb, so you wouldn't say is left; also leave sounds like there is some kind of choice involved, but the boat didn't choose to move... gone is an adjective in this context so is gone is okay).
68. D. last (at the last minute is an idiomatic expression)
