U2 'Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For' - Present Perfect

The Beatles 'When I'm 64' - Conditionals and time clauses

Suzanne Vega 'Tom's Diner' - Present Continuous

If you put any singer or band's name into google and do a search with 'lyrics' (e.g. U2 lyrics), you'll find the lyrics for any song that you want.

Hi Bahadir   There are quite a few good karaoke websites which should be able to help you.

http://beta.luckyvoice.com/ This site is still under development, but has some marvelous features and a really good collection of songs and play lists. I've written a complete review of the site at: http://quickshout.blogspot.com/2008/08/great-new-karaoke-site.html

But the best one so far forr me is http://www.karaokeparty.com/en mainly because many of the songs also include videos of the original singer with the lyrics. Students who register can also get a score on their singing ability, which may also help to motivate them to repeat the song aand do better.  You can see a complete review with screen shots at:http://quickshout.blogspot.com/2008/08/another-great-new-karaoke-site.html

I've also written an activity here based around a Karaoke website:

Lastly, if you want to read my tips and ideas for teaching with karaoke go over to my learning technology blog at:

Hope you find this stuff useful

The songs you recommend for me will probably be a bit difficult for young learners because they are learning Engish as a second language. I need some intentionally prepared songs such as ''twinkle twinkle little star'' or ''old McDonald's farm''. In fact, I found what I am looking for yesterday. And yet thank you very much for recommend..

Not really knowing what age group you mean with 'young', it is not easy to make good recommendations - but I have had much success with songs like 'I wish, I knew how (it would feel...) by the Lighthouse Family for Conditional 2, 'Lemon Tree' by Fool's Garden for Present Progressive (much better and livlier than the old chestnut 'Iam sailing..."). Both are singable and the vocabulary is not complicated. Much depends on the topic at hand and the level of grammar proficiency, but nearly every song text can be used (to some degree...!) I think it is not a question of 'which song teaches which grammar point?' Rather it is a question of this song is great, understandable, the music is motivating - which grammar point can I teach/revise with it?'

Hi

Have you ever heard about Jazz Chants by Carolyn Graham?

There are many volumes and they are quite good for teaching grammar.

 Hi

I want to thank to all my helpers, especially you, Nik. Your links are so benefitable.

By the way, I had once used the 'lemon tree'. It is quite an appropriate song for elementary or low intermediate learners.

Thank you all for your assistance..

best wishes....

Hello Bahadir,

I think you could use "A Hard Rain Is Gonna (going to) Fall", sung by Joan Baez. I used it several times with my students. It's a sad song, but very useful for learning tenses. Good luck.

Bahadir,

The song "these are a few of my favourite things" from the movie "Sound of Music" has a lot of nouns - countable & uncountable. Its a great way to teach kids nouns. And they love the song too! Try it.
