TeachingEnglish
girls as vocabulary learners
Submitted by j_e_j on 22 May, 2009 - 18:39
Hi,
As the beginning teacher in the primary school, I've observed that every time when my students write vocabulary tests girls get better results than boys... maybe, it's only my personal feeling, however, I'm wondering whether any of you have observed the same tendency? Is is scientifically proved that girls are better in learning new sets of words?
Thanks for your answers,
Eveline :)

Hi,
I'm an English teacher in a primary school too, and I agree with you Eveline. I think girls are good at not only vocabulary but also in other basic skills in learning English.
Hi,
I am a graphic designer from India, I am satisfied with your comments. Girls are better then boys because girls are more serious than boys. Girls always want to learn fast. They always concentrate on their subject.
I am also english learner student.

Dear Eveline,
Usually boys are good at logical guessing and on the opposite the girls are liking imaging thinking. So when they join in the words test, boys fill in the blank by guess the relationship between the Alphabeta, but the girls finished the paper by think the image of the words. The image are more accurate. So what happening as you talk.
A happy tree
