English teaching jobs but no degree??

Hello, i am a 35 year old intelligent English male. I am considering starting a career as English language teacher and doing an intensive CELTA course at IH Budapest in July or August.
Question is will i be able to have a decent career without a degree?
I am not looking to work in China, Japan or anywhere like that. I would be looking at places like Eastern Europe or Central/South Amercia later on when i had some experience. Would i be able to do this?
      Thanks for any advice
      Jack

      Hi Jack,

I have just completed CELTA in London and I am moving back to Hungary soon. My intention too is to teach English in Hungary. My question is the same...hopefully someone will comment soon.

      Hi there.

I come from a European country and I believe it's pretty safe to say that you won't have problems finding a job as an English teacher. You're a native speaker and in some places it's enough. You can try looking for a job in private language schools. However, if you've got no experience at all, I wouldn't expect to be given anything big at first. Maybe some conversational classes for more advanced students or preparing for B2-C2 exams.

I think the hardest thing is to get started. Once you get your very first experience, it should be downhill ;)

      Hi Morith,

I think Jack is lucky, he is a native. But what about us?? I am Hungarian and have studied in London. I have just finished CELTA and am planing to move back to Hungary to teach English. Well, I am not too sure how much chance I have....anyone? Any experience about this?

As per my opinion It id better if you complete your degree. It will be beneficial for you in getting promotion and good position in any organization. Also it is helpful in case of salary. It is not necessary to do it full time. go for part time but take degree. You can do it.
