Role-plays One useful aid is to record the students on audio or video and have them listen to or watch their performance. They can discuss where they might make improvements, and then try the role-play again. Comparing the first and second versions gives them a useful record of their improvement which is both encouraging and motivating for them.

This is a good way of evaluating speech and motivating students to correct the mistakes for their improvement is a good tool. I like the role playing as well.
This is how I learned to speak German and French at school. I use this technique where I live with natives and again it enables them to view their mistakes.
