Easy I love teaching it.
Now, I divide the board into two halves. On the left side I write Fact on the right side I write Result.
I then begin by writing a fact eg. If I study. Then we analyse the grammar ( present tense ) we then go ahead and complete the sentence on the right eg. I will pass the exam. Again here we analyse the grammar ( Future Simple ).
It's then easy to see that the first part is the consequence of the second part.We go on to explain that it is used for anything that is possiblle in the present and future.
Verify by using examples that are related to the age group you have in front of you.
Adults-If I over sleep I will arrive late.
Teenagers- If I eat a lot of chocolate I will get fat.
Have fun!
i am a teacher from Romania.Interesting!
You also need to consider negative conditional phrases such as; If I hadn't eaten so much chocalate, I would not have gained weight. In this sentence, both phrases are negative.
Consider; If I hadn't eaten so much chocolate, I would have remained slim. The first phrase is negative, the second positive.
You need to vary the phrases to get good practice in their usage.
