Readers’ Theater is also an activity in which students read directly from scripts and tell a story in an entertaining way. These kinds of activites help teachers motivate most students in class. This month in prep classes we are scheduled to read a graded reader 'Beowulf'. To do the first chapter I told them to read it in 10 minutes silently. After that I divided the class into 4 groups (There are 26 students in my class.) One group was responsible for the new words and the meanings, the other was responsible for drawing pictures of the vocabulary. Third group was asked for the summary and the other was asked for writing script of the chapter. I warned them that they had 45 minutes and they were the teachers. Each member should do something while teaching their parts. It was fun. Vocabulary groups asked me to give them A4 paper and my crayons. They used walls to present vocabulary and asked the rest of the class to match definitions. Then the drawing group (artists) asked the class to match the pictures with the words on the walls. After that, the playscript writers acted out the new version of Chapter one. Finally, the summarisers, summarised the chapter by expressing different feelings such as while crying, while laughing they read the summary they had done. It was fun.
