Storytelling has been an effective method for enriching EFL teaching and increasing learners' motivation. Since our childhood, stories have played a significant role in our lives. In addition, stories are a language treasure for various learners at different age and language levels.
Digital Storytelling is the practice of using ICT tools, images, texts, recorded audio, photos, music...etc. to tell stories. The topics that are used in Digital Storytelling range from personal tales to the historical events, and everything in between. This week we would like to share our resources about (digital) storytelling with you.

Dear Sirin and Ozge,
Here is my (still editing) edu glogster. On it I have uploaded two digital stories prepared by my prep students. They are about the summaries of two chapters from a book called 'The Frozen Waterfall' written by Gaye Hicyilmaz. I am going to upload the rest of my students, but I felt so happy that I wanted to share before it is finished. Here is the link:

Dear Gulnur,
I loved it and have already tweeted it =) Thank you for sharing it with us and we are all looking forward to seeing more examples.
Here is a blog post about glogs who aren't familiar with it:

Dear Siri,I do agree with you that stories are interesting for the children and they help a lot in the language acquistion process. But most of the stories i find in the readers are dry and incapable of creating mental images in the learners. So I prefer narratives to stories.ofcourse digital story telling may be effective.Anyhow thank you very much for creating one more educative and useful blog for teachers of english especially teachers of english as a second or foreign language.
yours sincerely,

I think that getting students to create digital narrative is a great way of developing both their writing and speaking skills as well as their digital literacies. I wrote this article about it a few years back.
Creating multimedia stories
http://nikpeachey.blogspot.com/2008/02/creating-multimedia-stories.html
It outlines some ideas you can use to get students creating their own digital narrative and also has links to free software they can use to do it as well as a short movie showing how to use the software (PhotoStory 3).
I hope this is useful,
Best
