The soundtrack game

In this lesson, students become familiar with the sports which make up the Olympic Games. They also practise being sports commentators, while their classmates ‘act out’ the sports.

Topic: The Olympic and Paralympic Games

Level: A1 (High primary/lower teenager)

Timing: 60 minutes

Aims:

  • To learn about the sports which form part of the Olympic Games 
  • To do a listening exercise to identify the sports from the commentary, and to practise being sports commentators

The order of the sound clips and images in the commentary slideshow are different every time!  You have to disregard the answers listed in the lesson plan and note down the order as you teach it.
