TeachingEnglish
      ELTeCS India and Sri Lanka

Although ELTeCS ISL covers only two countries, in terms of EL teachers and trainers to be represented the numbers are huge. ELTeCS ISL was set up in May 2000. Access to the Internet is growing fast in India in particular, so that school teachers in smaller cities and towns are now getting more regular access to email, often via their institutions and Internet cafes.

ELTeCS ISL members will continue to have the choice of receiving news in plain text format, but we anticipate that many who have easier access to the web will welcome the choice to receive news in a more colourful, web-based format too.

The new Editor of ELTeCS ISL is Albert P’Rayan, based in India. He took over from Amol Padwad in 2008. Albert works hard to manage the enthusiastic flow of messages from ELTeCS ISL members about events, new TA branches, points about the English language, and more. If you have any EL teacher development news to share via ELTeCS ISL, please contact Albert via the ELTeCS list.
