The project
The British High Commission Nicosia has supported a number of projects designed to modernise the civil service in North Cyprus through the application of modern strategic planning, recruitment and management techniques.

The most important of these projects is the Public Administration Reform project. This project is being implemented by the National School of Government who have seconded a UK expert to the Turkish Cypriot "Prime Ministry" on a long term basis.

The British Council has supported this project by providing targeted civil servants with Communication Skills in English training, to enable them to interact better with the international community.

The course started in February 06 and was completed in March 07. Thirty key individuals from the public sector, representing six different ministries, successfully completed the course.
