May be the most important thing at the moment is to make myself begin hard working after the holidays - we spent 10 days having fun. And it would be great to make my pupils want to study. Speaking about the lessons I want to become more systematic in my job.
Below link will take you to a fruitful part of TeachingEnglish site where you can find a series of short programmes on the topic of ‘Teaching Speaking' with Thai teachers.
These training videos were designed with an underlying belief that ""The best way to promote efficient language learning is to establish the target language as the language of instruction". You will see in the training videos how Thai teachers manage to communicate and keep students talking in English even in large classess. Please feel free to comment on the videos, use for inspiration and disseminate among your colleagues.
Shelly Terrell has been writing 30 goals series on her blog and she has ended this series of wondeful blog with a downloadable e-book, You can read her series here and you can be a part of it! You can download the e-book form here! Please join this challange and spread the word!
My main aim in the class is to make my students speak more English. The main problem is that students learn grammar, they can cope with exams, learn vocabulary but when it comes to speaking they are still not successful. They are still shy and excited although I am very careful about speaking only in English during my lessons.
My personal aim is to help some of students improve the quality of their homework. I have around 50 students who didn't use to do any homework. Now they take are more responsible and regularly do their homework. However, some of them are still doing it carelessly without an aim.
Does anyone have suggestions for me? Have you had such problems before?
My dear lecturer told us that " You do not know English unless you talk in English in your dreams". I am now mostly speaking English in my dreams? What about you?
