Edward de Chazal and Sam McCarter give a brief overview of English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and show how it relates to other branches of English Language Teaching. They then discuss the content and preparation of a syllabus for an EAP course, which can be task-based with a skills focus.

Thanks for posting this seminar on this huge growth area. I remember back in the day, UK universities required an English O'level pass or it's equivalent for university entrance for international students. The EAP courses, which emphasis critical thinking etc really prep the students for higher education
