      This task examines ways in which well-known phrases from the King James Bible have been adapted by journalists and other skilled users of the English language. The activity features two extracts from a lecture by David Crystal on the King James Bible, and examples he gives of the manipulation of phrases from the King James Bible, for example ‘manna from heaven’ becoming ‘manna from Devon’ in an article about food from Devon, England.
