      English Language Teacher Education and Development (ELTED) is a free online journal which is produced by the English Language Learning, Teaching, and Assessment (ELLTA) Research Group of the Centre for Applied Linguistics, University of Warwick.

      The Teacher Trainer

      This is a practical journal for those involved in modern language, especially TESOL, teacher training, teacher education and mentoring. The Teacher Trainer, edited by Tessa Woodward, is a Pilgrims publication and can be subscribed to online. The journal comes out three times a year and contains articles on all aspects of teacher training.

      Humanising Language Teaching

      HLT is a free online magazine and the website contains an archive of articles on various issues of language teaching and methodology as well as practical exercises aimed at primary learners, secondary teenagers and adult learners.

      IATEFL SIG Newsletters

      Each IATEFL SIG (Special Interest Group) publishes its own Newsletter with articles connected to its area of interest.

      Applied Linguistics

      OUP's quarterly Applied Linguistics publishes research into language with relevance to real world problems. It aims to promote principled and multi-disciplinary approaches to research on language-related concerns in the various fields encompassed by applied linguistics. It promotes scholarly and scientific discussion of issues that unite or divide scholars in applied linguistics. The journal also reviews new publications in the multi-disciplinary field of Applied Linguistics.

      International Journal of Applied Linguistics

      The thrice yearly The International Journal of Applied Linguistics publishes articles that explore the relationship between expertise in linguistics, broadly defined, and the everyday experience of language. Its scope is international in that it includes articles which show explicitly how local issues of language use or learning exemplify more global concerns.

      English Teaching Professional

      This monthly magazine combines short theoretical pieces with articles about classroom activities, photocopiable resources, reviews, a technology section and fun activities. ETP now offers an on-line subscription which enables you to access all the articles from previous issues. ETP magazine has also launched myETP.com (www.myET.com), a new community website for teachers designed to help them swap ideas, teaching tips and information.

      The ELT Journal

      First published in 1946, ELT Journal is a quarterly publication for all those involved in the field of teaching English as a second or foreign language. The journal links the everyday concerns of practitioners with insights gained from related academic disciplines such as applied linguistics, education, psychology, and sociology. One of its most popular features is its Key Concepts section. The online subscription for institutions allows access to articles from back issues.

      Modern English Teacher

      The quarterly Modern English Teacher is slightly more theoretical than its sister publication ETP, and covers articles and authoritative reviews of all aspects of English language teaching and is useful both for professional development and day-to-day teaching.
