      Paradigm Shift

I am asking for a new consideration what would be a PARADIGM SHIFT for teaching in the 21st century Age of Information? There are tons of materials on the NET, "post-method" era approaches, just to name a few. One can get lost without the proper guidance. I guess the Paradigm Shift is different for everybody. For me, it's the right direction towards my future professional development. On the other hand,  we shouldn't forget about our students either, we are working for them, for our future generation.

What is your Paradigm Shift re: teaching profession? Are you looking for something new in our profession or it's better to hold on to the old maps and old beliefs?

The issue is rather urgent (especially in Russia where teachers constantly experience reforms and innovations).Personally I'm looking for new ideas and methods.I'm ready to perceive and implement them (if they at least seem to be fruitful). The example is certain competencies and interactive technologies being promoted nowadays in Russian High Schools. But I'd better not refuse old and verified strategies that have proved to be useful and virtually the best.I know my students support me on this issue because they can distinguish advantages of the old system and deceitful lures of the innovations.

Oxana, thanks for your post. I am in constant search for something new as well. That's great to have supportive and understanding students. As for innovations, I do agree, we have to evaluate them thoroughly and critically first.
