Incorporating Bloom's taxonomy
Submitted by Victoria Kamchatka on 26 January, 2012 - 07:25
Learning Objectives of the lesson or session must be clear for the learners and they should know where they were and where they are going, also what they should do in class. That's why the objectives should be arranged in a logical sequence. Here helps the Bloom's Taxonomy: from simple to the complex. It leads Ss from the lower-order levels to the higher level thinking. Challenging activities are based on simple knowledge, from simple understanding and then application to critical and creative thinking.
The final stage is to motivate Ss to:
- judge,
- justify,
- assess,
- determine.
So, in the end we normally ask Ss to reflect and assess the lesson as well as the quality of knowledge:
Is there a better solution to ....?
