      The Crown

      THE CROWN
This activity is about teaching qualitative adjectives to students. This activity also helps students to understand their friends or classmates.

Through this activity, the students learn about qualitative adjectives, and even use them to describe their friends.

      PREPARATION
The teacher makes a crown out of cardboard; otherwise he can use a hat or a cap. He places the crown or the hat on the table.

      PROCEDURE

The teacher writes down some qualitative adjectives on the black board. The teacher asks any student to choose an adjective that describes his friend. The child is given a piece of paper, on which he writes the adjective. The paper is stuck or pinned down to the crown or hat. The student then puts the crown or the hat on his friend in the class.

The teacher should be careful in choosing the adjectives. The adjectives should only describe the positive traits of the students. He should not use adjectives which have a negative shade or meaning. Adjectives like “strong, simple, kind, nice, sweet, beautiful, lovely” can be used.

In the end, the teacher can ask the students to write a short paragraph on their best friend. The students should be encouraged to use the qualitative adjectives from the list on the blackboard to describe their friends.

This activity helps in forming a bond of friendship and camaraderie between the students
