Dear All,
We have heard about how literature is life, i.e; how stories, poems and plays describe the deepest experiences of men and women. Here is a reflection on how grammar also plays a part in reflecting life logically.
We classify pronouns into Ist person, IInd person and IIIrd person. The Ist person is defined as The person speaking, the IInd person is defined as the person spoken to and the third person is defined as the person spoken of. The various Personal pronouns are I[ singular], We [plural]-- Ist person; You IInd person [singular and plural]; He, She, It [IIIrd person, singular] and They [IIIrd person, plural].
A question can be asked- Why can`t we have a IVth person or a Vth person?
The answer is because in real life and in literature, film, etc we can have only a person speaking, a person spoken to or a person spoken of. Thus we can`t really have a IVth person etc. This is how grammar also reflects real life.
