I will teach an IELTS writing course

Today I signed a contract with a local IELTS training centre to provide a tutorial for an IELTS writing course. This is a VIP course with only one student, whom is considered to be picky and bossy as the school puts it. This student is an English major with a past IELTS score of six points and wants to improve it to be 6.5 points or above.

Therefore there will be a great challenge for me right ahead when the writing course begins. I will have the next two days to draft a teaching plan and select the teaching materials for the course. It seems that the student has a relatively good command of English, but I need to find where and how her testing scores will be improved also.

Meanwhile I shall also need to work out how to give an effective presentation to the course in the first class in which the first impression is of remarkable value in such a VIP course. Then I will ask the right questions to locate where the student's needs are or it is simply to find out what her strengths and weaknesses are. Lastly, I will build up her confidence in the writing course and design an effective curriculum to help the student progress towords her goals.

May the Lord guides me in this respect and gives me wisdom to succeed in this venture.
