It has been 11 days since I have joined Twitter first time. I had no idea how much I would benefit from it. It is an environment that keeps you motivated and helps you move forward. If you don't have a Twitter account, you should definitely register for free and get one. As there are other posts about Twitter, I want to focus on educational hashtags.

What is a hashtag anyway? According to Twitter Help Center, "The # symbol, called a hashtag, is used to mark keywords or topics in a Tweet. It was created organically by Twitter users as a way to categorize messages."

How does a hashtag help to Twitter users? Here are just three of them. Feel free to contribute to the list

• They are a wonderful way of searching for tweets in a specific category.
• They let you find people in your field and vice versa.
• It makes web more useful than just 'surfing' around.
