A couple of days ago, I shared a post called Changing the Moods of the Students and mentioned the ways to 'wake our students up' for the class that you have prepared in an excellent way. What about us? Are teachers always in the mood?
We all have personal lives that we have to consider. Our roles and responsibilities affect one another. The problems you have inside and outside the class may in/directly affect your teaching experiences. Here is one thing I'm practising before I start to teach.
Before entering the class, I think of all the problems that disturb me before the lesson and hang it on imaginary (coat) hanger in teachers' room or right in front of the class. Then, I enter into the class and smile as much as possible. It works for me but you need sometime to get used it. What else can energize us? Here are a couple of things that would make us ready for the next lesson.
If you,
- prepare for your class well
- have a clean dress, combed hair, brushed teeth (helps for self-confidency!)
- look at the mirror and remember why you are doing this job
- think of the shining eyes of your students that are the futures of this society
- feel lucky to have a job that you love much
- are aware of the fact that your profession is more than just teaching
- put a big smile on your face remembering you used to expect your teacher same way
- understand how much students appreciate your efforts or will appreciate them some day.
You will catch the spirit of teaching and shine as bright as a star in a dark night!
P.s. Don't forget to get your coat back as the life goes on outside the class! :-)

Hi Osman,
After changing the moods of the students, I liked this post, too. I agree with your tips.
Thanks,
Bülent
I don't think I'd want my coat back! All of the problems that disturb me can just stay there - forever!
Have a lovely Saturday!
