Do you remember Bert, Big Bird, Cookie Monster (my fave), Elmo, Erny and other Sesame Street characters? When I was a kid, Sesame Street made me a couch potato.
As a child, I couldn’t think that I would be a teacher and use my favourite cartoon as a tool to teach English. I think, Sesame Street characters are the sweetest muppets of all times. Sesame Street has been used in many aspects of education and Sesame Workshop ( a non-profit organisation that produces children’s programs all around the world) produced multimedia tools to teach English to kids.
Sesame Street English is the name of these multimedia resources. All characters have been animated. There is also a Sesame Street YouTube Page and you can find a lot of videos to use in your classes there. And, of course you should visit Sesame Workshop and Sesame Street Activity Page. You can find lots of educational games and videos. Your pupils will love them.
TRT Kids channel will broadcast Sesame Street in the near future, again. You can encourage your pupils to watch it. They’ll learn a lot of things. I guess I’ll be a couch potato again :=)

Good morning Özge,
I guess generations of 80s and 90s grew up watching Sesame Street. I can't help smiling when I watch videos on sesamestreet.org Just click! Elmo tells how to use the web site :=) I'm sure today's generation will also love it. It'll be a good idea to use it as a teaching tool.
