Our graduates and undergraduates though they follow their study programmes in English are unable to cope with matters where English is involved. Though they pass their subjects in English medium their standard of English is very poor. This month we are going to conduct the orientation programme for the new batch and I seek advice from the experienced colleagues to share their experience similar to this and give me some ideas how to facilitate creativity. Our students studied their A/Level in Tamil/Sinhala languages and do not have sufficient exposure to English during their school days.
