Combination of communicative and grammar-focused approaches to teaching: pros and cons of both

I found weak points in both methods and arrived at my own combining these two. Does anyone else have the same opinion?

I see that language teaching is an integrative process where many approaches might be called into action depending on the levels and readiness of the students. Resorting to the one approach method has not always proved to be successful . In fact , the combination of the communicative and the grammar based approaches is a healthy - if not necessary - method if the teacher is to target the students' diverse learning styles .
I would also tend to agree that it really depends on the level of the students. I do find that the younger or less ready students tend to do better with the communicative approach.
