I’m Pınar Boynikoglu.I am an English teacher and I have been teaching for four years.

I was born in Zonguldak in 1984. I graduated from Mehmet Celikel Anatolian High School and I studied at Kocaeli University, English Language and Literature in Kocaeli. After I finished university, I moved to Istanbul and I both worked at English Time Language Schools and studied at Dogus University, English Language Teaching. After working at a kindergarten which I realised how important is teaching English to very young learners, I have been working at Bilfen Primary Schools, which is the most successful private pimary school in Turkey.

Last year, I got TESOL ICELT certificate at ITI which is recognized globally and I am still going on my self-development. I also attended the Effective Worksop Presenters, Teacher Trainer Course at ITI and I'm still going on the courses to be a teacher trainer. I’m interested in preparing lesson plans, developing authentic teaching materials, and communicative classroom activities and also focused on teaching through visuals, games, songs, chants, real materials, TPR activities and using technology and Web 2.0 Tools.

I’m working very hard at Bilfen. I’m teaching 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th graders this year. We, the teachers from five campuses, get together after school on Monday, have a meeting in small groups and prepare our weekly lesson plans and our teaching materials, which I consider as one of the most important stages of teaching as we teach young learners because lesson planning and preparing teaching materials are the first stages of teaching in an effective way. The effective lesson plans and appropriate teaching materials are the keys to engage the learners in the learning process actively and motive them.

I like reading, writing short stories for pleasure, swimming in my free time and searching on the net to develop myself. I think that although we are teachers we also go on learning everyday and the life, itself, consists of life-long learning and the desire to learn!
