      Watch out! Pecha Kucha!

This is just a brief one to remind you that today one of the evening events on IATEFL is Pecha Kucha evening which is a highly exciting event. You can read the description here: http://iatefl.britishcouncil.org/2010/sessions/2010-04-09/iatefl-3rd-ann...

I have seen one last year and this is very entertaining, there will be some great speakers as well. It is going to be broadcasted life starting at 20.00 UK time. I know it is going to be late for many of you but this is highly recommended is you don't have anything better to do on Friday night :-)

You can certainly be able to watch it later as well.

If you are having problems watching life stream like I have here because of the connection, all videos will be made downloadable after the conference. Which I think is great as hen you can take it to more and more teachers!

I'll let you know how it went later!

Hello, Olga! Thank you for your comments! I guess it's extremely exciting over there right now!

I learnt about Pecha Kucha last spring at the course for e-moderators. This autumn I posted some information about it in the Moodle course for tutors on our university's site, and some colleagues got very enthusiastic about it.

I like Pecha Kucha because it's not tedious to watch and the report has to be to-the-point, and that's just what we need in our busy lives. :) Of course, it's often impossible to cover the most important issues in just 6 and something minutes, so this format will not abolish presentations and lectures, but would be cool to have such brief sessions in Russia.

PS The guy in the video pronounces the word as "pechachka". Shouldn't it be "pechakcha", I wonder? It doesn't sound right either way. :)

      Hi, Olga!:)

Thanks a lot for all your guidance and very detailed comments! Unfortunately I don't have time to follow all the events of the conference, but your blog is a great help to know the key events (though I guess all were key there:)) and to get new information and inspiration from real MASTERS and PROFESSIONALS!

Have been reading and listening for 4 hours already today and feel full of new ideas for a new week:)!

Hope to hear something fascinating about the final part of the conference!

      Best wishes, Julia

Olga, thanks again for all your comments! It would be great if you could share your feelengs and emotions about the final day of the conference and the music evening that I think was one of the brightest conference events.
