Hi
I am happy to say that UnConference has started! Gavin says that nobody knows what is going to happen?! Even Gavin! I am sure he was kidding, he knows everything. He knows that a lot depends on the participants here and the facilitaters and bloggers are to help them to share their experience.
We are going to see very exciting presentations, such as
- "Mobile learning" by Nail Ballantyne and Nicky Hockly. It must be very very interesting, they are going to dicsuss how to use mobiles in teaching English. Do you use mobiles in your teaching practice? I do not, but look forward to knowing how to do that.
- "Social Networking & PLNs" by Gavin Dudeney and Olga Rotko, one more new topic for me, how to find useful people to discuss impotant issues, how to make it an educational tool.
- "Teaching Young Learners with Technology" by Vera Bobkova and Maureen MacGarvey. How do we feel when teach young learners? Maureen and Vera are going to look at big problems an small ones we face when teach young learners, and they say it is going to be fun!
- "OLTD" by Maureen again and Rena Pena. What is it? Online Teacher Developmennt. Mm., sounds interesting.
- "E-Progects" by Neil Ballantyne and Tatyana Kuznetsova. They are going to share their experience in this issue.
- "Corpora and Concordancers" by Olga Rotko and Wayne Rimmer. Before the presentation I asked them what these two words mean, Wayne answered "come and see". With pleasure!
- "Motivation and Creativity" by Gavin and Tatyana. This topic is very close to me, how to motivate learners, what can demotivate them? How can technology help?
- "Online Language Learning" Is it possible? Tomorrow we'll see what skills are necessary for online teaching, what resources can be found in the Internet and we are going to play a Fishbowl!
- "Interactive Whiteboards" by Rena Pena and Natalya Shlyakhtina. IWBs, is it a fashion or necessity? Let's talk about this and other ussies tomorrow.
Oh, it is really impossible to choose which session to take part in tomorrow, as each three are at the same time.
I look forward to tomorrow.
