      Punctuation

Do you teach your students how to punctuate. I gave my students the following sentences and asked them to punctuate them:

      I want to eat grandma

Oh no he said why did you eat my lunch

that that is is that that is not is not is not that it it is

Then we took a look at the following websites:

The following website is a wonderful resource for teaching punctuation:

      http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/ks2bitesize/english/spelling_grammar/punctuation/read1.shtml

and this is for practice: (I love this game because it combines fun with learning)

      http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/ks2bitesize/english/spelling_grammar/punctuation/play.shtml

I don't normally teach punctuation, but explain when I find errors, but this was fun.

      How about you?

I use simmilar examples to teach punctutation. It seems it is not important but we are language teachers, no matter it is not their mother tongue, they must think of it. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for such useful links. Punctuation is the sore problem for most of the  children. I'll use the links in my teaching practice. Think it'll be easy for better understanding. Thanks once more!

I love that sentence! You can create a whole class discussion after showing them the different meanings.

      Thanks! :))
