Hi Gulsum. What I would like to learn is the change on your teaching with your MA and PHD. I mean does something change with the master's degree? What did you realise about your teaching with the help of your postgraduating degrees. How can you help your students to make them speak? Do you recommend any books to us? Thanks. Gulnur

      Hello Gülnur,

First of all, I am sorry because of my late answer but I couldn't check my blog because I was at another city. Concerning your question, I can say that MA study was a step for me to learn how to learn. In my BA years, we didn't use to search like MA years. One of the most important benefit of my MA study is to teach me how to learn and how to search something and also while preparing a thesis you learn how to organize and it is also very helpful in my teaching. Now, according to my students' needs I can organize my lessons in an effective way, I can select appropriate materials, I know the new trends in teaching but according to me a voluntary and hardworking teacher can do all of these things without making MA and Phd studies. If a teacher knows how to reach the information and follows new trends in ELT (by attending the conferences, reading articles, following some useful websites, etc) s/he can learn many things related to his/her own field. You also asked me how I could helo my ss speak. I teach at an Anatolian High school and I use technology effectively in my classes. For example after each unit, I want my students to work in a group and prepare a project (such as preparing a school presentation etc.) and I want each of them to join the preparation and presentation period. They also use technology (videos, powerpoint presentations etc). Lastly, I think recommending a book may not be suitable here, I use many different kinds of books and online tools the best known publishings mostly..I hope you are satisfied with my answers:) you can write whenever you want..byee
