      Reminder - never more

It was so long ago... I forgot about my blog. Pity, but I had a lot of things to do after my practice at school. No I'm in completely different place and situation. Neither at my home university nor in Poland. But let's leave it for a while.

I had 120 hours of teaching practice: 60 for gimnazjum and 80 at secondary school. It was amazing experience for me. My university curriculum prepares me to be a teacher, but on the other I don't want to. Anyway, I had this opportunity to see whether I'm cut out to that job or not.

Firstly, I prefer classes with older pupils. And it really doesn't mean "age", but  form (US grade). Why? Because these who are final-form pupils know that they are going to have a final exam and they or they just know they want to learn that language. And that's why I'd rather work with such people.

Moreover, I found it better for me to teach  at a secondary school.I feel I'm on the same wavelength as they are. I can rise important issues as well as funny ones. They already know what they gonna do in the future (or they are supposed to know that) so it is easier to talk to them. Generally speaking, I don't feel like a class tutor, or any person who is responsible to, let's say, bring'em up. No way. And that is what a teacher has to do at a primary school. Maybe I'm wrong...

Once I finished my teaching practice I said "Nevermore" (to quote The Raven  by E.A. Poe ;-). Yes, but as you probably know: never say never. Yes. Now I'm hopefully going to have another opportunity to work as a teacher's assistant. Now I'm in Vigo, Spain. I participate in Erasmus exchange. Every time Universidad de Vigo give a proposal to students who speak English or French to participate in the programme of Language Assistants (el programa de auxiliares de conversa). We can work up to 50 hours and we are paid. So I decided to enrol. I not only want to see how the education works in Spain but, and that is "the key factor), I do need money.

Anyway, it is great opportunity. How knows... This time I wont say "never". I'll try. Maybe it is better to be a teacher in other country than Poland. But that is not a major problem for me. Being a teacher is too boring for me. I don't feel like doing almost the same things for 20 years or so. But... never say never
