      B2-C1 - challenge or fun?

      When asked 'What level would you prefer to teach?', graduate students tend to answer: 'Intermediate - Upper-Intermediate.' Being an experience teacher I treat B2-C1 levels as a challenge and sometimes feel desperate.

      My reasons -

      1. Learners easily get frustrated because:

      • they have several years of language learning and feel a bit fed up of the process;
      • they are sick and tired of discussing trite topics;
      • it looks like they are not learning anything new;
      • they are quite confident language users and may lose sence of purpose
      2. On one hand, it's difficult to find a good course book. On the other, I feel scared to start an unplugged course of 120 hours.Would be happy if someone shared some successful strategies and techniques of working with these levels!!
