      Visit and learn more :)

Hey, Who is learning fast? People who travels a lot or reading or watching ??????? :)Actually now,,, for this idea: I always think it but Never manage to do :) Poor me! Really believe me.... for permmiting from the manager at school and formal things made me overwhelmed :) So, it's just my idea and Hope, I gonna do it One day :) I have a dream ;) When learning the cultures in language courses... We should go Burger King for learning the fast food culture or going Pizza restaurant for learning Italian culture etc... I believe that ıf Ss touch, smell etc.. or using their 5 senses for learning.. They manage fast! As a teacher I also like this system! :) So, let's visit and learn more ;) It could be even school garden;) Have fun :)

Do you have some visiting triops like this? If so please share with me your experiences ;) I gonna need more to manage this activity.....;)

I'd like to share the experience of my colleagues who hold classes with adult learners in cafes and cosy restaurants to achieve relaxed atmosphere and chatting in English. This works for teenagers as well if to invite them to fast food restaurant and speak English while eating and ordering (in our town it's possible due to the fact Fast Food chain has employed several students of Philology Department).Children of younger age enjoy bowling classes with English intervened in the course of event. One more idea (that I heard to be practised in a private school) is to play card games (e.g.Mafia) on condition of speaking English during the game.

Paul Theroux, a traveller,  in his book The Pillars of Hercules wrote ” . . . No language is difficult. Language is an activity, a kind of play, learned through practice.  It requires little intelligence. It is social.”

Language skills are developed and enhanced when you use them in everyday life. If we take English classrooms, we teach our students to utilize English in classroom and outside the classroom.

The other thing, you are talking about language and culture. What culture do you want to teach?

      Wonderful ideas)

As for me, I can't imagine Britain without pubs, football and 5 o'clock tea.

When I learnt German in Munich for a month I certainly knew a lot about its culture through beergartens and their sausages)

Certainly, how can you get to know some culture if you aren't interested in it!

When İ was 18 İ felt like challenging myself in any way possible. İ longed for real travel experience and language practice (communication experience to be fair). İ applied for a volonteering camp in France (didn't have enough money for UK) and arranged myself the best adventure İ've ever had in life (and the most efficient language practice and motivation boost).

Since that time İ believe that most useful practice is DOİNG things together with people from diffferent cultures using language as a medium of communication. Might be school projects, games, sports, theater... But İ belive it works well only if participants DO NOT have a common language and HAVE TO use English.

Hi, yeah no language is difficult! Language is an activity... as you said a kind of play etc... I like this sentence ;) ofcourse it develops if you use it every day... Culture... I mean ..Exp: This week you want to teach Italian culture or Spanish... So, you can teach every kind from Italian...their food&important places to visit&lifestyles&costumes etc... Culture is very colorful for me.... You can find every color in it! :)
