      English Corner

As an English Teacher, I want to create  some place for me in the classroom. Do you have your own place in your class? Do you have extra workings on the walls? To begin with this term I prepared English Corner! ''English Fun Corner'' with my young learners. Funny and easy :) I choose the main characters from my book and hang them on the wall. Hang colorful new words,chants... everything on that wall... They all look there wihout the English courses! I believe that if you look smt for a long time, you remember very fast! It is smt like a symbolising the smt! I think English is good when you repeat it a lot.

Repetation is very useful for English Learners....You should up-to-date your corner ;)

Very enjoyable activity with your students,,,,,,,,

Do you have extra activites using in your class? If so please share with me ;)

Waiting your comments and waiting your comments to Five Little Monkeys that I write in my blog :)

      pleaseeeee :)

I used to have an English corner when I was teaching in the primary school. I let my students bring some pictures, jokes, puzzles or articles. I rarely helped them. Of course I hang some instructions at first :)

Do you prepare all the things yourself or involve students? If you involve them it will be their work not the teacher's. I think you have very young learners. They can cut and colour the pics or words.

      Leman,

English corner idea sounds good. I will try that with my adult learners. They can just share their ideas in English with their firends in that corner. I think, many of their work would be writing (not coloring sth) but at least I can encourage them to write a poem in English, going beyond the imagination :)

Loved the activity, thanks for sharing :)

      keep blogging :)

      Hi Leman,

I loved the english corner idea very much. I use the walls as much as possible to make the classroom colourful and fun. To gather English work in one corner is a fab idea. Thanks for sharing and reminding.

      Hi dear

You have touched a very important and interesting point. I think that English corner  will be an inseparable part of every teacher, because it promotes students better understanding of the importance of learning foreign language.

As for me I have English corners in every school. In the Elementary school we use it under the title l "Animals around us". Children are fascinated by animals and intrigued by their amazing diversity. We have posters, letters, on the walls, newsletters which portray a range of animal life from domestic pets to exotic creatures of the sea. Pupils are deeply interested in it.

In the Secondary school we have an English corner where children "travel" above the Earth. It is called ""Way up high".Here they learn about natural phenomena, such as what makes the sky blue and how rainbows are formed. We have hot discussions of what space travel might be like in the future and the history of the first flying machine. They also explore facts and fantasies to the sea. They read much about the Bermuda Triangle,a beautiful mermaids and an infamous pirate.

They become more developed, enlarge their scope of knowledge and enrich their imagination. It really very inspiring.

Hi my friend,,, Thanks for your good comments ;) Happy to read your sharing about this issue ;) I just have question for you..As you write for the Elementary part you have ''Animals around us''. Is this title goes on at the end of the term? or Will you change the title topic to topic? Because, I called my corner just English Corner. Title is same but the activities changed. Exp: Unit 1: Animals,,,,, (animals pictures or coloring pages etc... Unit 2:Food (Food songs,pictures...)

      Waiting your answers ;) Thanks
