TeachingEnglish
      stay-home mom---------successful teacher

      My name is Juanita.

Teaching adults the english language was a dream. Today I have come close to seeing my dream is true.

Standing before CEO,MBA students,Comuter geeks is an honour, as I teach them to speak the MOST BEAUTIFUL LANGUAGE.

I taught spoken english on a trial and error basis. I knew I was not on the right track, I searched the net, talked to my mentors and BANG CELTA happened.[May08].

CELTA was an eye-opener. Learning TTT,STT,TP1,TP2---,feedback ,input, output etc. made me cry and want to return home, assignments was a nightmare. I am proud to say I am still alive, enlighted and working.

I am wrting my blog to encourage others to pursue the dream of teaching others the language you love.

      Will update with my experiences

Sorry I am back after a break. the journey from freshman {after CELTA} to a teacher who is loved by her students is amazing.

I learnt, to be a good trainer is first get  to know your students i.e. half the work done.

My students do not miss a single class, they learn quicker because they know they will not be ridiculed or laughed at and above all their confidence grows with every session.

I have encouraged teachers to try new methods of training  ie

Listening skills--- instead of a simple conversation ,to introduce songs it has worked wonders.

Stress and Intonation is an important part of teaching Non-english speakers --- makes talking interesting.
