So you have a blog, a wiki or a facebook page now. What should be the next steps?
I highly recommend twitter, the microblogging tool which enables users to share with 140 characters. It is a great platform to meet educators who are sharing links, lesson ideas, articles. These educators are supportive, helpful and ready to collaborate. Once you register, find the right people to follow, follow the people they follow and start your own Personal Learning Network (PLN) which you will find very useful through your journey in teaching.

What to do on twitter?
Real resource sharers look at your short bio and a few of your tweets so do not forget to say that you are a teacher and you are ready to share and collaborate. Tweet a few sentences, share the links of some favourite articles. Then retweet some links you find useful. Don't forget to mention the person who tweeted that link and if somebody mentions your name, thank her/him.
You can also discuss with your PLN about certain subjects. There are scheduled chats. For an EFL teacher, ELTchat is a great opportunity to interact with teachers who are teaching English all around the world.
I should warn you that twitter can be addictive but soon you will learn how to manage your time.

Very good and necessary introduction to twitter. I recently got an account there and it really is addictive. I hope I can manage my time better as the time goes by! My account is @ozsolmaz there. I would like to follow fellow teachers and elt-blogathon bloggers.
Hi Eva,
Thanks for adding me to your "follow" list. You are a great follow yourself. Everyone should follow you on Twitter: @evab2001
Özge,
Thanks Özge but it was you who showed me the way :)
