      song contest

Today I want to share another listening activity with songs. Although the headline refers to a contest in which students are expected to sing songs, it is not the case in this activity. However, they have to compete. It is very enjoyable and educational. I like it a lot.

      1) Choose a song the story of which you can illustrate in about 15-20 pictures. You can either draw these pictures or make use of clipart.

      2) Make copies of pictures so that they can used by 4-5 groups.

      3) Divide the class into groups of fours.

      4) Scramble the pictures and give a set to each group

      5) Ask students to have a look at the pictures and guess the story.

      6) Ask students to order the pictures as they listen to the song

      7) Play the song twice. You can play it for the third time if necessary.

      8) The first group who finishes ordering correctly is the winner.
