I have never visited a student´s house yet. I have been invited to some birthday parties but I thanked them and said I couldn´t come. It felt strange. Maybe I feel I don´t want to become too familiar with the family. Is thisd wrong what do you think?
Have you ever been to Ss house?
Since I work in a private school, it's our routine to visit students' houses.
And they visit my house as well.
I think it helps you to better understand the student when you see his/her family life.
Yes this sounds OK. I work in a public school, many students there.. still it feels strange. I believe no teachers from my school go to houses. When I worked in a private foreign language school I went with my adult students to dinner parties and trips.
Dear Babakartal,
No, I have never visited a student's house although I have been invited to some of their gatherings. I do keep contact with their parents though.
My reply will be the same with partner singerina;);) I have been invited to some birthday parties but I thanked them. Because when you start one ,,,they all want and could be born some trouble:)
Being in school with them,,,, is enough ;) :)hhahhehh:) thanks babakartal
Actually I give private lessons to students' houses so, it's part of my job being at their homes. I must say that it's highly controversial! On the one hand you get familiar with their parents and it's easier to inform them on their performance on a regular basis but on the other hand it is difficult and sometimes embarrassing when I need to be a bit stricter with their children!!!
Hi, dear colleagues.
I see Only crystalheart visited home.
School administration decides and the teachers visit the student and his/her family.
As Cyristalheart said,
I agree with Cyristalheart, After visiting home, some positive progress
is being observed.
thanks for your precious comments..keep sharing..

I can't say that I like it very much. Their house is their private life. But... sometimes I feel that I have to and then I just do it
It is an interesting post, babakartal. I don't think that I have ever tried it before. But I can see that some of the colleagues do this. Thanks for your interesting topic.
thanks for your comments...
