New challenges and the Dialogue journal writing

I haven't been here for a while... and I see some Blogathon participants haven’t either.

Here are some things that happened since my last post:

      -         I’ve collected my prizes for having won the 3rd place (I've always wanted to have a huge OXFORD Russian hard-copy dictionary, though I’m a complete digital-geek). And that tome is ‘watching’ me from my bookshelf as a reminder of the challenges I take up.

      -         I’ve applied for a CELTA course as I decided to become a professional teacher for groups. I think I am pretty good at one-to-one teaching :) Teaching groups is a new challenge for me.

      -         I’ve tried to develop the technique mentioned by Victoria Kamchatka and adapt it to my one-to-one classes (see the Dialogue journal writing). My three pupils (7th, 9th and 10th grades) are girls. Two of them have difficulty expressing themselves accurately, they speak fast with plenty of mistakes, but their aim is to pass a written exam. Another pupil is good at grammar, but she is afraid to utter a word.

      To be continued…
