teaching with humour

Studying is a hard process. Not only for teachers, but for students as well))) Ideally, studying demands total attention, concentration and discipline. But thus it would be disguistingly boring) My students are sportsmen. They are young, emotional, active and open to the whole world. I have to grab their attention all the time and make them wanna study.

I am a positive person with a sense of humour and I try to create free and easy atmosphere for my students. I pay much attention to the decoration of my classroom. Besides maps, photos and other usual thigs I like to hang out funny pictures and use caricatures according to the topic.

What are the advantages?

* It rouses motivation to learn the unknown words and to remember them.

* It helps to ease tension and create a friendly atmosphere.

* It makes them smile. I love it))

I agree that keeping a positive attitude and lighten things up with humor are so helpful and make a world of a differenc. I LOVE some of the pictures you suggested and thank you for the list of sites.
