Action Research Method is fast becoming the most popular way of effective research in the English Language classroom. My personal interest in this method developed after attending a Research Methodology Workshop recently at a University in the capital city.

'"Action research is for the teacher working in the classroom" Based on this I got the chance to apply a plan two years ago on a group of 25 young girls and boys at the O levels.

 A month passed by and I felt that I was not getting the grip on my class. It was time to Plan

My Reflection resulted in the following:

I would be a friend for my students.

I decided to gift them notebooks and ballpoint pens but with some conditions.

Work in the class would be completed in time. checking would be done in the same time.No one would take the notebooks home.

Free time would be given if good quick work would be completed in the class.

The Plan was a roaring success. My project Action Planning proved fruitful.Students were happy.We became a friendly group sharing problems jokes interests skills ideas and were happy about the class achievements.

Students were not bored anymore.Grades and grammar improved.It was all because of changed attitude, interests , time management and a high level of motivation and appreciation.
